Large volume, small diameter shafts are machined and gun drilled within a matter of seconds on our brand new rotary transfer machine (Pfiffner HB45-12). They are subsequently vacuum hardened and quenched with 12bar liquid nitrogen, assuring prefect martensitic grain structure to the highest of corrosion-resistant standards. The shafts are finally ground in one setting on a dedicated, automated Lidköping 46 center-less grinder equipped with the latest in combined wheel technology.
These components form the rotary backbone of the latest generation of high-efficiency centrifugal pumps in domestic heating applications. These pumps will become mandatory in the European Union as of 2013, and are capable of saving energy equivalent to an estimated two nuclear power plants in Germany alone.
